What systems are part of Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+?
There are six systems that are part of the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+. They include a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Road Sign Assist. We take a closer look at each of the systems below.
Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
This system has been updated to monitor the vehicle in front, a bicycle, and a person walking, even when the sun is going down or coming up. There is also intersection support which will detect an oncoming vehicle or person and it can apply the brakes if necessary.
Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
The driver is able to set the desired speed and then the system will speed up and slow down based on what the vehicle in front of it is doing. It can slow all the way down to 0 mph, and it can resume to the previously set speed.
Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
If a driver inadvertently leaves the lane it is in without engaging the turn signal, this system will sound an alarm to let the driver know.
Lane Tracing Assist
Designed to provide nudges to the steering wheel to make sure the vehicle stays in its lane.
Automatic High Beams
Senses when there is oncoming traffic and switches between high and low beam headlights.
Road Sign Assist
Have you ever driven past a sign and missed important information? This system recognizes certain road signs and it uses a camera in the front of the vehicle to display the road sign on the multi-information display.
