Three-row crossovers are hard to get right. If they’re too big they can be a hassle to drive. If they’re too small then there is not enough room for large families and all their gear. Luckily, Toyota knows a thing or two about producing a functional vehicle and has made the 2017 Toyota Highlander just right. Drivers will appreciate the road handling and easy parking while passengers will love all the elbow room and room for their gear. Check out how much cargo space is in the Toyota Highlander below.
How much cargo space is in the Toyota Highlander?
Cargo Space Dimensions
Owners of the 2017 Toyota Highlander have options when it comes to hauling stuff. With each of the three-rows upright, the 2017 Highlander will offer 13.8 cubic feet of room behind the third row. That leaves plenty of room for grocery bags, small luggage, backpacks, and some sports equipment. If you ever have need to transport large items you can fold down the third row to reveal 42.3 cubic feet of space and even the second row leaving an impressive 83.7 cubic feet. That’s plenty of space for smaller pieces of furniture or tools for a weekend project.
Max Seating Capacity
The max seating capacity of the 2017 Highlander is eight passengers and all trim levels will come standard with a second-row bench seat that makes this possible. However, if you only need room for seven, you might want to consider adding optional second-row captain’s chairs which will up the comfort factor and make it a little easier to get to the third row. The second-row captain’s chairs are available only on the 2017 Highlander’s Limited and Limited Platinum trim levels.
