Fans of the trail-ready TRD Pro grade will be happy to hear that for the 2020 model year the Toyota Sequoia SUV will be joining the ranks of models with an available TRD Pro trim. The 2020 Sequoia TRD Pro configuration will also be sporting some extensive feature updates that will guide future TRD Pro trims on other models like the Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma. 2020 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro Features and Updates
The 2020 Sequoia TRD Pro trim will feature the same engine as all other 2020 Sequoia models: a 5.7-liter DOHC I-FORCE V8 paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This powerful engine provides plenty of power for all adventures, even when the cabin is fully loaded with up to 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque.
All 2020 Sequoia TRD Pro models will be outfitted with a standard Multi-Mode 4WD system that provides additional traction when the roads get tough. A TORSEN limited-slip differential supplies power to the front and rear wheels as necessary and a two-speed transfer case is available to tackle steep and rocky inclines. Both systems can be controlled by the driver via a rotary knob and dashboard button respectively.
Like we mentioned above, SUV and truck shoppers can expect some of the new features on the 2020 Sequoia TRD Pro to be found on all new TRD Pro trims moving forward. These updates include a standard push button start feature for easy cabin access and an upgraded infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa compatibility. Additional TRD Pro trim updates are available depending on the model.
