2019 Toyota RAV4 Towing Capacity and Performance Specs
Max Towing Capacity
Like the outgoing 2018 Toyota RAV4, the 2019 Toyota RAV4 will offer a range of towing capacities from 1,500-pounds to 3,500-pounds depending on configuration. Most traditional gas-powered 2019 RAV4 models will deliver towing specs towards the 1,500-pound mark. Hybrid configurations will have a little more towing power with about 1,750-pounds of towing ability, and 2019 Toyota RAV4 Adventure models will come in with the highest towing performance offering 3,500-pounds of max towing when properly equipped.
As with the towing capacity, ground clearance on the 2019 RAV4 lineup will vary by configuration with specs ranging between 8.4 inches and 8.6 inches. The higher ground clearance in part is thanks to the new TNGA platform and will allow 2019 RAV4 drivers to tackle even tougher terrain. The outgoing 2018 RAV4 offered a ground clearance of just 6.1-inches to 6.5-inches depending on trim.
AWD and Multi-Terrain Select
Further increasing the 2019 RAV4’s off-road ability is an available Dynamic Torque Vectoring AWD system with Rear Driveline Disconnect and an available Multi-Terrain Select feature. Multi-Terrain Select was previously only available on Toyota SUV and truck models like the 4Runner and Tundra and allows 2019 RAV4 drivers to toggle between three selectable drive modes for maximum traction in tough conditions.
