Choice of Two Engines

The 2019 Toyota RAV4 will be available with a choice of two engine options: one for gas models and one for hybrid models. All trims of gas-powered 2019 RAV4 models will be equipped with a Dynamic Force 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission system. Hybrid models will come equipped with an equally powerful 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain system paired with an electronically-controlled continuously variable transmission. Toyota has yet to release the exact horsepower and fuel economy specs for the new 2019 model, though they have said that the 2019 RAV4 will have a better blend of power and fuel economy than previous 2018 configurations.

Available All-Wheel Drive

The brand-new Toyota Dynamic Torque Vectoring all-wheel-drive system will be available on select Limited and Adventure trim models and makes a great addition to the off-road-ready RAV4 lineup. When the Dynamic Torque Vectoring AWD system is engaged, it has the ability to direct up to 50% of the engine’s power to rear wheels and can also direct power to the left and right so drivers have more control in all conditions. When AWD isn’t necessary, a Rear Driveline Disconnect feature can stop driveshaft rotations and send all power to the front wheels for improved fuel economy helping drivers save money for more traveling.
