For its debut model year, the 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure highlights its outdoor-ready nature by significantly upgrading its towing capacity and ground clearance when compared to the traditional 2018 RAV4. See the impressive 2018 RAV4 Adventure towing capacity and ground clearance figures below.
The 2018 RAV4 Adventure trim is ready for weekend exploration. To prove it, the new specialty trim has almost doubled the tow capacity of the base trim on the traditional 2018 RAV4. The 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure with front-wheel drive has a max towing capacity of 2,900 lbs when properly equipped while the 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure with all-wheel drive can handle up to 3,500 lbs when properly equipped.
*Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up and loaded properly and that you have any necessary additional equipment. Do not exceed any Weight Ratings and follow all instructions in your Owner’s Manual. The maximum you can tow depends on base curb weight plus the total weight of any cargo, occupants, and added vehicle equipment. “Added vehicle equipment” includes additional standard/optional equipment and accessories added by the manufacturer, dealers, and/or vehicle owners. The only way to be certain of your vehicle’s exact curb weight is to weigh your vehicle without passengers or cargo.
One small but mighty change in the 2018 RAV4 Adventure compared to traditional RAV4 models is an increase in ground height. While the Toyota RAV4 can handle some light off-roading, the 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure can go even further off the path with a ground clearance of 6.5 inches compared to the 2018 Toyota RAV4 ground clearance of 6.1 inches.
