Goodbye Scion, Hello Corolla
Toyota has unveiled their Corolla lineup for 2017 and with it comes the new Corolla iM, formally known as the Scion iM. The name change stems from the transition of the Scion brand back to the Toyota name. However, there’s no need to mourn the Scion brand, as Toyota’s CEO Jim Lentz says Scion did its job admirably. “This isn’t a step backward for Scion; it’s a leap forward for Toyota. Scion has allowed us to fast track ideas that would have been challenging to test through the Toyota network,” he tells consumers. Scion was built as a Toyota brand that aimed to attract youthful customers, and with more than a million cars sold and 50 percent of the buyers being under 35 years old, we’d say it did a pretty fine job.
Toyota Corolla iM Brings Fun and Functionality to the Corolla Family
For those looking for a little more fun and adventure, the Corolla iM takes you to places you haven’t been before. The iM brings a versatile hatchback style that has plenty of room for any traveler’s gear, and its economic gas mileage keeps you going while others are stopped at the pump. As far as the interior, all Corollas are getting an updated styling, but in addition to the high quality materials the iM keeps the outside noise at bay with an acoustic layer windshield and floor silencer sheets. Plus, its 6-speaker Pioneer sound system will keep you rockin’ the whole length your next trip.
Safety While You Take in the Scenery
Because safety is just as important as fun, Toyota has given the Corolla iM the trusty Toyota Safety Sense to help prevent or mitigate accidents. The standard Toyota Safety Sense package includes technologies such as Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High Beams, and a Pre-Collision System to enhance performance and reliability.
The 2017 Toyota Corolla iM rolls out later this month, so if you are interested in learning more about the Toyota Corolla iM or any other member of the Corolla family, call or visit us at Ackerman Toyota. We would love to show you the features that make the Corolla family so popular!
