Toyota has been working hard to expand its current lineup, this includes new Toyota Racing Development (TRD) vehicles. These types of vehicles usually have impressive and powerful performance capabilities to offer. Does the 4Runner have a TRD version?
The 4Runner has been part of the Toyota lineup since 1984 and Toyota keeps adding new features to it every year. Toyota recently announced that the 2017 4Runner will some TRD trim levels: the TRD Off-Road 4Runner and the TRD Off-Road Premium 4Runner. The TRD Off-Road 4Runner features black painted wheels and a unique TRD Off-Road badge on the C-pillar. The center console and floor mats also feature this distinct badging. The TRD-Premium also adds TRD red lettering to the headrests of the front seats.
Both editions will have advanced capabilities including having Multi-Terrain Select system which allows the driver to use a dial to select the mode that matches the terrain and conditions in any given situation. The 4Runner also has electronic-locking rear differential and Toyota’s Crawl Control feature. The 4Runner also has a number of off-road features including available Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System that controls extended wheel travel at slow speeds for greater off-road capability and stability. The 2017 Toyota 4Runner will be available in six grades including the TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, which will all be available later this year.
